Abstract: |
In this paper we present a real-time global illumination approach for illuminating scenes containing large point clouds. Our approach is based on the distribution of Virtual Point Lights (VPLs) in the scene, which are then used for the indirect illumination of the visible surfaces, using Imperfect Shadow Maps for visibility calculation of the VPLs. We are able to render multiple indirect light bounces, where each light bounce accounts for the transport of both the diffuse and the specular fraction of the reflected light.
